The first stage in being ready for campus placement is preparing for an upcoming professional life. Campus placement preparation is important, and it initiates the way for tomorrow with a better professional career. We'll talk about the most effective ways to get ready for campus placements in this blog series.
What is Campus Placement?
Campus placement is basically a recruiting initiative that is conducted through many institutions with the aim of giving jobs to students who are close to finishing their respective studies. Campus placement not only reduces the time and effort students must expend to discover their ideal careers on a personal level. Additionally, it provides students with a vast array of options to succeed in their chosen fields as soon as their academic careers are through.
When Should We Start the Preparation?
Basically, it should begin in the first year because, in my opinion, this is the process of understanding, experiencing, and developing your unique personality and attitude.
If we look at the number of recent graduates from institutions today, it is huge. Because of this, the company has choice options at campus placement. Hence, we must start working on it from the beginning of graduation, maintaining that academic record and archiving the skill set or competence is not a one-day effort. We need to work hard, and as a result, it will become easy to compete with the corporate world. If you are in your pre- or final year, take the time to do so as well. Many things have changed positively; now, anyone who meets the requirements and has the necessary skills can apply to any company, and options are open for all.
First Step Towards the Preparation
Depending on the student's attitude, I would say that this phase might either be very easy or very challenging. It is a component of understanding, experiencing, and developing, as was previously discussed. You need to improve yourself, just be aware of who you are, and start learning new things. Take part in all activities, whether they are academic or extracurricular. Activities may involve competitions, social work, athletic games, or any number of other things. As a result of experience, which is a necessary component of this process, you will come to understand your strengths and weaknesses. You must now take this realization seriously. For example, you may discover that while your idea is good and your presentation is weak during a hackathon competition, or you may discover that your team's management skills are lacking during a social event. Genuinely, if you start working on it, you'll start updating or developing yourself. This will help you mold, update, and develop yourself so that you can compete in the actual world. Yes, you must accept the facts and take these things seriously.
I am aware that the information above won't help you find employment or may not be a useful response for campus preparation, but if you use it, that will be the first step towards the preparation.
How to Start Preparation?
In general, interview rounds differ from company to company; however, the rounds below are frequently included in campus placement processes, and most of them are elimination rounds.
- Application and Initial Screening (Resume shortlisting)
- Skill Assessment Test (Aptitude and Technical)
- Group Discussion
- Technical Round
- General HR Round
If, as was previously mentioned, you are working on understanding, experiencing, and developing yourself, then your CV, which is the first point of contact with the corporate world, can undoubtedly represent all of those elements. Second, during subsequent rounds of the interview, you will be evaluated based on a variety of factors, including your technical core knowledge and aptitude skills. There is no quick fix for this; practice is key to passing this round. Being confident and having excellent communication abilities will help you succeed in the HR Round and group discussion. In the upcoming blogs, we will discuss a lot of things serially.
